Research and defense: work backward from a need

Understand what you want an improvement to do before committing to technology, soldiers, or another town upgrade.

Your goal

Choose a development direction using the information on your current account, not an unsupported universal priority list.

The developer describes rebuilding technology, training soldiers, and preparing town defenses. Those are different kinds of development. Treating every available option as equally urgent can hide the question that matters: what problem are you trying to solve?

Turn a vague goal into a question

“Improve everything” is difficult to act on. A better question is “What is preventing the next thing I want to do?” Read the relevant requirement or activity instructions, then inspect the technology, training, or building options available.

Do not assume that a technology with a familiar name has the effect you remember from another game. Read the current description, including any limits or prerequisites it shows.

Compare the commitment, not only the benefit

Our recommendation is to compare the benefit you expect with the resources and time the game says it requires. Also consider what you will postpone by making that commitment.

Avoid following a troop ratio, technology order, or unlock-level table unless its source matches your current game and has been checked. This starter guide cannot verify those exact mechanics and does not substitute a guessed table.

  1. Name the immediate problem or activity.
  2. Inspect the available improvement’s description.
  3. Check its visible costs and prerequisites.
  4. Choose it only if you can explain how it serves that goal.

Make caution part of defense

Century Games describes invasions and competition over resources. That makes it worth understanding an activity’s risk before engaging. If you cannot tell what you may lose, ask for clarification through an appropriate game or alliance channel.

Do not interpret a higher strength figure or alliance membership as a guarantee of safety. This guide does not claim a shield duration, protection rule, or combat outcome.

Before you move on

  • I can link the improvement to a specific goal.
  • I checked current costs, effects, and prerequisites.
  • I am not relying on an unverified protection or combat claim.

Evidence & limits

The official overview supports soldier training and defenses; the developer store description supports technological development. The prioritization method is editorial guidance, not an empirically optimized research order.

Recommendations are original editorial guidance, not measured optimal strategies or hands-on test results. Exact costs, timings, unlock levels, and combat formulas are intentionally omitted unless verified.
